MORE ABOUT 4D

Measuring the front face of a prism is challenging for two reasons: 1) the combination of retroreflections produces complex fringes that are difficult to isolate, and 2) the high power of the return beam tends to wash out the front face fringes altogether.

4D Technology's FizCam 2000 uses a short coherence source that allows you to isolate fringes for each face of a prism. Adding a pellicle to reduce return power you can accurately measure the front face, or any face, of the prism under test.

4Sight software, included with all 4D interferometers, includes dedicated prism masking and analysis, providing surface data for all faces, as well as beam deviation, the angles between all faces, and dihedral angle errors.

4D dynamic laser interferometers measure the surfaces and angles of prisms, despite vibration and turbulence.
